Consider for recommendation to the Board a proposal to allow the existing date stone to remain and be covered by a recently approved addition at 714 Morris Avenue, Bryn Mawr, 2012-R-16.
On November 15, 2012 the Historical Commission recommended approval since the date stone will not be damaged even though it will be covered and will not be visible from the exterior. (The date stone will be visible from inside the attic of the addition.) The Commission requested that the applicant submit a photograph of the date stone to the Township once the addition is completed so that it can be given to the Lower Merion Historical Society.
Consider for recommendation to the Board a proposal to add a new enclosed entry porch on the front elevation, to convert the existing three car garage into a family room by removing the overhead doors and replacing them with two sets of French doors, to add a new covered porch at the rear of the new family room, to add a bay window at the gable end of the new family room, and replace an existing sliding glass door at the breakfast room. The applicant also proposes to install an in-ground pool, pathways, low walls and an outdoor fireplace at 324 Avon Road, Class 2, Bryn Mawr, 2012-R-20.
On November 15, 2012 the Historical Commission recommended approval as submitted, including the proposed landscaping which has minimal to no impact on the historic resource, in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards 9 and 10.
