INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN TELEVISION & VIDEO PRODUCTION

Spring, summer, fall and winter unpaid internship positions to qualified students pursuing a course of study in television/video production. Channel 7, Lower Merion Township's Government Access Channel, is carried on Comcast Cable and provides news and information to nearly 20,000 cable subscribers within the Township. Learn valuable hands-on experience in both ENG & EFP video productions.

While interning at Channel 7, students will be exposed to the operations and procedures of a local government township. Many of the programs at Channel 7 support the local township's services i.e.: police and fire departments, parks and recreation events, library events, music concerts, LIVE broadcasts of government meetings, etc.

Students will assist in the daily operation of the station and be assigned projects. These projects will range from pre-production to post-production. For example, a student might be asked to design a graphic for a program, or edit footage together into a 30-minutes program, or even produce and direct a project from start to finish. No matter what the assignment, the student will follow the standard, video industry production procedures and be responsible for meeting and scheduling deadlines.

Candidates for this position should be well versed in basic video operation and engineering. This internship is for those who enjoy a challenge. Interns will be responsible for the administrative "paper work" associated with their projects.

  • Assisting during Live Broadcasts
  • Editing Video Projects
  • Producing Public Service Announcements
  • Creating Video/Computer Graphics
