The Township of Lower Merion needs temporary workers holding a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) to drive and collect trash & recyclables. INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN TELEVISION & VIDEO PRODUCTION
Spring, summer, fall and winter unpaid internship positions to qualified students pursuing a course of study in television/video production. LMTV, Lower Merion Township's Government Access Channel, is carried on Comcast Cable and Verizon FIOS, and provides news and information to nearly 30,000 subscribers within the Township. Learn valuable hands-on experience in both ENG & EFP video productions.
While interning at LMTV, students will be exposed to the operations and procedures of a local government township. Many of the programs at LMTV support the local township's services (i.e. police and fire departments, parks and recreation events, library events, music concerts, LIVE broadcasts of government meetings, etc).
Students will assist in the daily operation of the station and be assigned projects. These projects will range from pre-production to post-production. For example, a student might be asked to design a graphic for a program, or edit footage together into a 30-minutes program, or even produce and direct a project from start to finish. No matter what the assignment, the student will follow the standard, video industry production procedures and be responsible for meeting and scheduling deadlines.
Candidates for this position should be well versed in basic video operation and engineering. This internship is for those who enjoy a challenge. Interns will be responsible for the administrative "paper work" associated with their projects.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE
Spring, summer, fall, and winter unpaid internships are available to qualified students pursuing a course of study in journalism, public relations, or political science. Lower Merion Township's Public Information Office provides an effective communication link between the Township government and its citizens through publications, news releases, social media, oral and written presentations, cable television and other mass media.
While interning for the Public Information Office, students will be exposed to the operations and procedures of local government. Students will: assist in creation of news releases and policy documents, photograph township events, develop content for publications and social media, and assist the Township’s Government Access Television Channel, LMTV, on occasion.
Candidates for this position should be proficient and confident writers with knowledge of journalistic (AP) and/or public relations style. Knowledge of layout/design, photography, and local government a plus. This internship is for those who enjoy a challenge. Students are encouraged to take this internship for credit, and will be responsible for the administrative "paper work" associated with their projects.
