Lower Merion Township’s Highway Division and Refuse crews will continue to clean up debris and leaves from Superstorm Sandy on Saturday, Nov. 10, said Don Cannon, Director of Public Works for the Township.
Township Highway staff had to be diverted for two days this week due to the preparation for the snow event and winter conditions on Wednesday and Thursday, including salt spreading. All Highway staff have since been re-deployed back to debris and leaf pick-up until collection is declared complete. This work will continue next week.
There will be crews out Saturday and next week collecting bagged leaves and working to grind the piles collected to-date, at both the Koegel Public Works Complex and the Township’s Leaf Compost Site.
VETERANS DAY: Refuse and recycling will be collected in Lower Merion Township on Monday and throughout next week according to its regular schedule, not the adjusted schedule for a holiday.
Though Veterans Day falls each year on Nov. 11, when it is a Sunday (as this year), the holiday is observed on Monday. (Township government offices and libraries will also be open on Monday.)
