Lower Merion To Collect Debris From Superstorm Sandy
Special collections Nov. 5 through 9
Posted Date: 11/2/2012 11:00 AM

For the week of November 5th through 9th, Lower Merion Township Public Works crews, in addition to their normal refuse and recycling pickups, will be collecting all storm-related brush, leaf and tree debris that is put curbside by Township residents.

There will be no cost to residents for this additional service.

To be collected will be limbs and branches that have fallen from the trees—it does not need to be bundled, and branches can be of any length— but it does need to be curbside. (Leaves must still be placed in biodegradable leaf bags.) This will be a week-long sweep through the Township to assist property owners with their debris management.

For all other storm-related debris, the Township is waiving its subscription can limits (Nov. 5th through 9th) so that it can be placed with normal refuse for collection at no extra charge.

RECYCLING: The recycling collection that was cancelled on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 29 and 30) will be collected at the next normally scheduled recycling date – Nov. 12 and 13.

For any other specific questions regarding storm-related debris, please call the Refuse & Recycling Office at (610) 667-1952.
