GOVERNMENT ACCESS CHANNELLower Merion Township’s Government Access Channel is found on Comcast Cable Channel 7 and Verizon FiOS Channel 37. Any resident in Lower Merion or Narberth who subscribes to these providers can view LMTV, which has been cablecasting since October 1991. What started out with a simple, scrolling bulletin board now includes live broadcasts and replays of meetings as well as many original programs.
BULLETIN BOARDPart of LMTV’s broadcast day (24 hours) is comprised of bulletin board messages. These messages are submitted by LMT Departments and contain items of importance and/or interest to Township residents. These messages are typed into the system and enhanced with colors and graphics.
LIVE BROADCAST / REBROADCAST OF MEETINGSCurrently LMTV provides live broadcasts of the two primary, monthly committee meetings and the monthly Board of Commissioners meeting. In addition, it is common to broadcast other meetings of “broad public interest,” including special public hearings. Board meetings are generally rebroadcast the following day and each broadcast day until the next scheduled live broadcast.
ORIGINAL PROGRAMSCurrently, LMTV produces 12 original programs:
Each of these programs is produced, written, recorded and edited by the Township's professional staff. Descriptions of these programs can be found in the Programming on LMTV section of this site.
OUTSIDE PROGRAMSLMTV also cablecasts a select number of programs produced elsewhere that are provided to the Township at no cost. These programs cover a broad range of topics such as environmental issues, classical music events, art programs and federal government services. Descriptions of these programs can be found in the Current Program section of this site.
